Abraham Orthelius

Abraham Ortelius (1527–1598) was a Flemish cartographer and geographer best known for creating the first modern atlas, the "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum" (Theatre of the World) in 1570. Ortelius' atlas revolutionized cartography, making world maps more accessible and accurate. His contributions laid the groundwork for modern geographical studies.
