Willem Blaeu

Willem Blaeu (1571–1638) was a Dutch cartographer, globe maker, and publisher, best known for producing some of the finest maps, atlases, and globes during the Dutch Golden Age of Cartography. He was the founder of the Blaeu publishing house, which became one of the most influential mapmaking firms in history. Willem Blaeu’s meticulous cartography and artistic approach helped establish the Dutch Republic as the world’s leading center of mapmaking, influencing the field for centuries.
